FUNDAMENTAL DUTIES:

Article 51A. This provision was introduced by the 42nd amendment of
constitution in the 1976 by inserting Part IV A in the Constitution.
Article
51 A (a): to abide by the constitution and, respect its ideals and
institutions, the National Flag and the National Anthem.
Article
51 A (b): to cherish (appreciate) and follow the noble ideals which inspired
our national move violently for freedom.
Article
51 A (c): to uphold and protect the power, unity and integrity of India.
Article
51 A (d): to defend the country and render national services when called upon
to do so.
Article
51 A (e): to promote harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood amongst all
the people of India transcending religious, linguistic and regional or
sectional diversities and to renounce practices derogatory to the dignity of
women
Article
51 A (f): to value and protect the rich heritage of our composite culture.
Article
51 A (g): to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes,
rivers, and wild life, and to have compassion for living creatures.
Article
51 A (h): to develop the scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry
and reform.
Article
51 A (i): to safeguard public property and to reject violence.
Article
51 A (j): to strive towards excellence in all area of individual and collective
activity so that the nation constantly rises to higher levels of Endeavour and
achievement.
Article 51 A (k): the parent or guardian to provide
opportunities for education to his child or, as the case may be, ward between
the age of 6 to 14 years.
